Recollections of 1991 WCC Assembly
The Seventh World Council of Churches (WCC) Assembly was held in Canberra from 7 to 20 February 1991.
Thirty years has passed since Canberra's Churches worked together to make the event a success, with many people volunteering their time and gifts. Several recall their memories of this special time together.

'Biloela' family puts detention in spotlight
We are in refugee week and the plight of the Murugappan family... has focused us in prayer and solidarity with all those experiencing Australia’s closed immigration detention and the thousands living in our community on temporary visas, their lives in limbo and in mental anguish, some for 8 years.

The NCCA congratulates all of them, with special mention to two friends of the NCCA who have been recognised for their contribution to ecumenical relations, theological studies, commitment to social justice and welfare and their churches

Gaza's children are now suffering widespread trauma. If we all chip-in now, we can make sure kids get the mental health support they need to heal, before this trauma steals their future.
