Recollections of 1991 WCC Assembly

The Seventh World Council of Churches (WCC) Assembly was held in Canberra from 7 to 20 February 1991.

Thirty years has passed since Canberra's Churches worked together to make the event a success, with many people volunteering their time and gifts. Several recall their memories of this special time together.

From our networks: Community detention explained, policy briefs from JRS Australia and Vinnies NSW and articles on refugee advocacy.

Ecumenists honoured

In the recent Queen's Birthday honours many people were recognised for their contribution to religious organisations and services. The NCCA congratulates all of them, with special mention to two friends of the NCCA who have been recognised for their contribution to ecumenical relations, theological studies, commitment to social justice and welfare and their churches
