The NCCA offices were pleased to host a group of Traditional Land Owners on Wednesday 17 October. They had travelled from their lands in the Northern Territory and had just attended the Origin Energy AGM to explain to its shareholders that consent had not been gained from Traditional Land Owners for fracking on their land in the Betaloo Basin.

On 18 October, a delegation of six faith leaders visited Canberra to discuss the plight of asylum seeker children on Nauru. NCCA President, Bishop Philip Huggins and NCCA Interim General Secretary, Liz Stone were part of this delegation. They spoke with both the Minister for Immigration David Coleman and the Shadow Minister Shayne Neumann.

WDHTOur friends at The Freedom Partnership have advised us of the progress of the Modern Slavery Bill 2018. NCCA also received an update on the Joint Letter to the Prime Minister from leaders of civil society, business, investors, academics and faith-based organisations, in support of the Bill.
